Farewell Native Ads, Hello Again Personalization

When we founded Gravity in 2009, our vision was simple: Let’s Personalize the Internet. In 2014, we were acquired by Aol to help bring our technology to their growing customer base. Since the acquisition, Gravity has improved user experience and increased engagement on our owned and operated properties. Personalization will continue to play an important role in our growth, and there is a tremendous opportunity for us to continue being leaders in this area. In order to focus our efforts, we have decided to move out of the native ad world and dedicate all of our efforts - and technology - on what we originally aimed to do: personalize the internet.

Given this strategic realignment, Gravity will double down on personalization - more specifically, the personalization of video, building powerful editorial/analytics tools, enabling developers and platforms to leverage the unique power of Gravity’s interest graph through SDKs, and more.

Do I need to remove Gravity plugins/code from our site?

Yes, please remove all code from your site by February 28th, 2016 unless instructed otherwise. Whether the code is removed or not, Gravity ad services will be turning off on Sunday, February 28th at 11:59pm PT which means that ads will no longer render on your site(s).


How long will I continue to receive native ad recommendations through our Gravity placements?

You may receive native ad recommendations through Sunday, February 28th at 11:59pm PT.


Will I be able to access my data via the Gravity Dashboard?

You will be able to access our Dashboard until March 18th, 2016. We suggest that you download a copy of your data before that date. If you have any further questions, reach out to your Account Manager (AM) before February 28th and they will be happy to help you. If you have any further questions after February 28th at 11:59pm PT, you can reach us at support@gravity.com.


When will we receive our final payment?

Payments will be made on schedule, in accordance with our Terms of Service. As a reminder, you do not need to send an invoice to receive payment. If you have any questions about final payments, reach out to your Account Manager before February 28th. If you have any further questions after February 28th at 11:59pm PT, you can reach us at support@gravity.com.

All campaigns will continue until Sunday, February 28th at 11:59pm PT.

When will we receive our final invoice?

I have a prepayment balance on my account - how will I be refunded?

All refunds will be granted in early March after February activity has been finalized. If you have any questions about your refund, reach out to Gravity Accounting at accounting@gravity.com.
