Business Development Manager

We are looking for an amazing Business Development Manager to join us at Gravity here in New York City.  As a BD Manager you’ll create and support business arrangements with some of the biggest digital publishers in New York.

Gravity has a technology platform that can help publishers get more traffic, increase engagement and earn more ad revenue so  you will be a rock star . You’ll report to the Director of Business Development but get to work with the entire 45 person company including account managers, product and sales. All that, plus you will be the face of the company to the world!

Here are the key parts of the job:
• Meet (in-person or on the phone) with publishers to explain what Gravity does and why it is cool
• Suggest solutions that address the publishers goals – whether that’s growing their audience, increasing engagement or generating more money from the pages they have
• Flush out the financial details of how a business relationship will work (don’t worry, you’ll have some finance guys to help you)
• Manage / expand the relationship with publishers
• Brainstorm new uses for the Gravity product that we haven’t even thought of yet
• Find funny and entertaining videos on the internet to share with the company – with or without cats involved (preferably with)

And here is the type of person we’re looking for:
• Ad technology experience (as it pertains to publishers)
• Knowledge of the publishing industry (CPM’s, RPM’s, CPC’s, CTR’s, PVV’s and other weird 3 letter acronyms)
• Sell without selling: this isn’t a sales job but it does take some explaining to educate people on what Gravity does and why that’s valuable
• Relationship builder.  It’s business yo.
• Self motivated, we don’t work a standard 9-to-5 so there will be some late nights schmoozing and more coffee than your heart can handle
• Ok with some light travel: once a month to visit publishers in other cities or the Gravity mothership in LA

Benefits? We have lots of those things:
• Competitive salary
• Full medical, dental + vision coverage
• 3 weeks of vacation a year (+ 2 floating holidays)
• Matching 401k program
• Gym / fitness center – for free!
• Shiny new MacBook Air
• Pick your email address @gravity.com
• Weekly happy hours and other fun social activities

Gravity is an AOL owned company hence we’re in the AOL headquarters at 770 Broadway (9th St & 4th Ave).  It’s a great place with killer lunch options in the East Village and the office was recently renovated so it’s super posh inside.  We are 1 block from the N, R or 6 train and another 3-5 blocks from Union Square where you can get the L or B/D/F/M.
